Book your Meal

I recently had the pleasure of traveling to Maui with my husband and daughter and wanted to plan a special meal with a private chef for my husband's birthday. I contacted Private Chef Maui and was lucky enough to be put in touch with Chef Josh. From the first time we spoke I knew I was in good hands. Weeks before our trip we worked to create the perfect meal. There was nothing that we wanted that he could not do. Chef Josh was able to make bespoke recommendations based off our palate and what ingredients would be fresh and in season during our trip. Although I knew we were in for something incredible, when the day of the meal finally arrived all my expectations were exceeded. Chef Josh arrived at our Airbnb, unloaded all the food and chef tools, and started cooking while we relaxed at the pool. He inquired about when we wanted the meal to start and totally accommodated our desire to have a slow, relaxed meal. When we came back from the pool, not only did the Airbnb smell HEAVENLY, but Chef Josh had also set the most beautiful place setting for us. Before going to the pool, I mentioned that I was going to have my husband move the patio furniture so we could eat outside and enjoy an ocean view, however when we returned Chef Josh had already moved the furniture to the perfect spot! Despite having worked with Chef Josh to create the menu, I was surprised by each course. Not only was his plating absolutely stunning, but the food was complex and left us wanting more. Although the flavors of the ingredients were familiar, the way they were put together was exciting and new. From the flavors to the colors and textures of the food, it was obvious that Chef Josh has an eye for detail. Everything on each plate served a purpose and contributed to the course. Chef Josh not only prepared each course beautifully, but he also served us and provided a description of what we were eating. As fabulous as the meal was, it was only enhanced and made that much better by Chef Josh himself. He was able to find a perfect balance between being super professional but not stuffy. He was able to read and perfectly match our energy and knew how to both interact with us but also give us our space. When the meal was over, Chef Josh cleaned the entire kitchen and even took out all the trash. The only traces of him that were left were the lingering smell of his delicious food and the leftovers that he carefully wrapped and left in the fridge. Also, since this was my husband's birthday meal, the courses were planned around what he would like best. I mentioned to Chef Josh that there was an additional dish that I would really like even though it did not go well with our other courses. Instead of adding it to the meal, he made it as an "extra" and put it in the fridge for me to have at a different time during our trip!!! In sum, I cannot be more pleased with the meal and service that we received from Chef Josh. He is clearly a master at his craft and truly cares about the quality of the experience he is providing. He went above and beyond for us, and it showed. The meal he prepared will always be remembered and was the highlight of our trip. We HIGHLY recommend Chef Josh and will absolutely hire him again next time we are in Maui. His food is worth the trip!
